Ahhh for the love of food.
I love cooking. and eating(good food) and reading and blogging. I think if you’ve read this blog for a while you probably know all this. I realise that I haven’t been kind though, I follow some amazing food blogs and it’s only fair to share. This is not an exhaustive list but what I’d like to think of as the first of many.
I always go to these blogs when I’m feeling bored with my meals lately or when I have a special occasion to cook for.
Some of these blogs are healthy, some have a new spin on old dishes and some are just pure fun. I hope at least one of them inspires you to cook something new soon.
Lets get into it
I’m mentioning Kevin of Closet Cooking first because his was one of the first food blogs I ever followed. I was in college and I can’t even remember how I discovered his blog but I haven’t left since. My favourite thing about is blog is how straightforward the recipes are and how many there. Seriously, search for any and everything, he has tons of good recipes. I’m currently thinking of making the Mongolian beef pictured above soon. Yum!
Jessica is like my friend in my head! I love her so much. Yes really. She is super creative and her photography skills are just brilliant, her blog is just all around awesome. What I love most about her though is her style of writing, seriously, she is a great writer, super funny and all around entertaining. Her blog is everything great about a food + personal blog. Check out this creamy cajun chicken pot. So good!
3. Skinny taste.
There comes a time in a person’s life, when they (should) become aware of their body, health and fitness and I’m just so happy that Gina of Skinny taste was in existence when this time came for me. Eating healthy should be colourful, vibrant and delicious and this is exactly what Gina does on her blog. She creates tasty food that is also kind on the body. My favourite thing about her is how she takes traditional meals and creates lighter versions. Eating well never tasted so good. I’ve made these zucchini meatballs several times and I love them!
4. Food Wishes
Now Chef John’s blog is great, but where the party is at is really his Youtube channel. He makes instructional videos that are equal parts entertaining and informative, he is actually hilarious and I always watch his videos even when I’m not interested in the meal. There’s something about watching that helps me to perfectly recreate dishes and I love that about his blog. He doesn’t take himself too seriously but is extremely talented, a rare combination. I made his Easy Chicken tikka and it was so good! Video above 🙂
This post wouldn’t be complete without at least one Nigerian food blog. But this isn’t just any Nigerian food blog, this is a great one. I’ve really enjoyed seeing her blog and business grow and it makes me so happy to see Nigerian food being presented in the simplest and most beautiful ways. Her recipes are super easy to follow and she explores other non-Nigerian cuisine. Right now I’m eyeing this Chicken Yassa, can’t wait to make it.
And it’s a (chicken) wrap!
I hope I’ve introduced you to at least one new blog
