If you’re reading this, I guess you survived Monday, yay you!
Today was the first day back at work for me after a 3 week easter break- yes please be jealous! After having so much time off, I was half dreading having to get up and out early this Monday morning.
As much as I love my job, I too get the Monday blues. It starts creeping slowing on Saturday evening as I realise, “Oh no, almost Monday” and start thinking of all the million things I’d like to get done before the weekend is finally over.
I’ve found a simple trick though that has really helped alleviate the anxiety of a looming work day. I have been practicing it for a while and it really helps me. I hope it will help you too. It’s a no -brainer that just does the trick.
Plan your outfit.
Yup. That’s my grand secret. Stay with me here. Maybe you already do this, maybe you don’t but here is why this works for me. What I wear is important to me, I feel good when I wear something I like. What I wear though, is not that important to my job. As long as it’s neat and clean, a body con dress will not lead to a better lesson than a vintage shirt and slacks. So instead of wasting precious time in the morning, the day before Monday, I lay it all out. Down to my underwear and choice of earrings. Yep.
By taking out time to do this simple task, I can breeze through getting ready and free up the mental space for something else; such as planning for important tasks of the day and even have breakfast. I’ve gotten so into this routine that I often plan 3 outfits and sometimes even the whole week.
So there’s my Monday Blues tip! Plan your outfit- and free up your head space for something else 🙂
